So while I've been enjoying almost all of my classes so far during my first semester of college, I've been thinking very hard about what i want to do and how i would like my life to take shape. Tonight, sitting in my bed, I decided to make a bold move, one that no F.I.T. student dare take. I'm going to transfer majors. I am currently a Fashion Merchandising and Management student, and I'm going to apply for an internal transfer to the Jewelry Design program. This is going to pose a particular challenge because one of the reasons I didn't apply to this major in the first place is because of my lack'o'portfolio. I have plenty of jewelry that I've made, but they also require other mediums and you need strong drawing/sketching skills (which I lack). So the challenge is going to be creating a stellar portfolio in about 3 months, while also taking 6 other classes in my current major. I think that if i really buckle down and get my head on straight I can accomplish this. I also plan on taking advantage of my wonderfully creative roommate for guidance, feedback, and a little inspiration while creating my portfolio. I'm going to need to completely dedicate myself to my studies and kicking ass. Being here has made me realize that I've always sort of breezed through school, if you will. I never fully commit myself to anything in particular and i believe NOW would be the appropriate to start doing so. So with some good 90's jams, hard work, late(sober)nights, and a little dedication I am going to make this happen.

Now time to sleep on these potentially stress-induced-balding ideas.
