So regarding that sugar high comment, long story short my friend Grace and I ate a mad amount of candy the other night at a school function and had possibly the best giggle sesh that I've had in quite sometime. It was amazing and much needed. I would like to personally thank each and everyone of those sour patch kids.
In other news, I'm psychic. I've been having very vivid dreams lately, not sure why, but it's kind of fun. So a little background on the story.. I applied to work at Billabong over a month ago and nothing ever really came of it so I basically forgot about it. Wednesday night I had a dream that I worked there. Thursday afternoon they call me to set up an interview. Boom. I'm psychic I told you. My interview is Tuesday morning.. cross your fings.
My last speaking point is a little more deep and a little less ridiculous then the previous ones. Before I moved here I had a lot of expectations and frankly they weren't really met right away. Things have been turning around lately and I realized it's because I stopped trying so hard. I guess I kind of expected to have a best friend immediately upon arrival and we would do everything together and life would be perfect, well I learned quickly that shit doesn't work out that way. Realizing this was pretty empowering because even though I thought I was an independent person before, I'm on a whole different level now. I stopped being desperate for the perfect party with the perfect friends and just let life happen and I've met some pretty cool people in the process. I must say, not having to rely on other people for happiness is one of the best feelings.
This week is going to be crazzzy busy though. I have 3 midterms, an interview, 2 study abroad meetings, and my Mama, Dad, Aunt Christy, and Aunt Jacquie are all coming to NY!! Very excited to eat at good restaurants and do fun touristy stuff with them...and it's not going to suck to hang out at the Waldorf Astoria for 4 days ;)
peace
